Butterfly birth Papilio polyxenes or Black Swallowtail
Took a short stroll through the garden just now and saw a Black Swallowtail emerging from its chrysalis and hang out to dry off its wings.
If the Evening Primrose had not fallen down in the storm, it would have been a foot or more overhead and out of eyesight.
